Revealed at last – the shortlist for prestige business awards
The judging panel for the West Wales Business Awards has whittled down the entrants to a shortlist. The awards will be presented at a black tie event at Stradey Park Hotel, Llanelli. on Friday, January 19.
The night, which is always a sell-out, will be hosted by Frances Donovan, and guest speaker is Wales and Lions rugby legend Shane Williams.
The West Wales Business Awards are organised by WalesOnline, the Carmarthen Journal and Llanelli Star, and the overall sponsors are the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
“The West Wales business community continues to perform well despite the ongoing economic headwinds, and it’s a privilege to be able to recognise another year of endeavour and success,” judge and South Wales Evening Post editor Jonathan Roberts.
“The judging process is never an easy task, which is testament to the strength of the nominations. This year, we saw a number of new companies on the entry list, from larger and well established names to smaller enterprises.
“We should never underestimate the critical role each of these firms plays in supporting the local economy, providing jobs for the community, which in turn supports a myriad of businesses elsewhere.
Ian Morgan, the managing director of Morganstone, who as winners of last year’s main prize was invited to be part of the judging panel, said: “Sadly, we had to narrow the field down to a manageable shortlist, and every company in the running for a prize is a real contender for the award.
“It was a privilege to be invited to judge the West Wales Business Awards this year. The calibre of entries was extremely high.
“It was very encouraging to see great companies in the region continuing to achieve considerable growth and success in their sectors.
“My congratulations go to all nominated companies and winners.”
