TYLER REID

-

With the first-team struggling for consistency in the wide positions, 2018 could see him get his chance although another loan move will also be an option.

GEORGE BYERS

From: Watford Age: 21 Position: Midfielder THE midfielder spent 13 years at Watford before signing a twoyear deal with Swansea City in July 2016.

Byers played a major role for the Under-23s as they delivered a league and cup double lifting the Premier League 2 (Division 2) title and the Premier League Cup last season, scoring eight goals across the campaign.

Byers has also represented Scotland at Under-17 level and this season he has shone for the development side, scoring four times and assisting six.

Since joining the club 18 months ago he has yet to make a first-team appearance.

However, with Swansea needing some creativity he will hope to force his way into the firstteam fold if he maintains the sort of form he’s displayed so far for the Under-23s.

KENJI GORRE

From: Manchester United Age:23 Position: Winger DUTCH-BORN Kenji Gorre was a product of Manchester City’s youth system before crossing over to United in 2002.

In 2013 he was released by United and began training with Swansea.

He impressed at the trial and convinced the Swansea City management to give him a oneyear contract.

The first-team call came after impressive form for the club’s Under-21 side where he scored 18 times and provided 10 assists and he made his Premier League debut on the final day of the season against Crystal Palace in May 2015.

The Dutchman joined League One side Northampton on loan in July 2016. Gorre made 18 appearances while on loan at League One side.

The winger returned to Swansea in January 2017, scoring a crucial goal against Brighton to help the Under-23s progress to the semi-final of the Premier League Cup which they went on to win.

Since his return 11 months ago, he’s failed to force his way into back into the first-team squad and a loan move seems the most likely outcome for Gorre when the January transfer window opens. GIVEN Swansea’s current injury and suspension issues at fullback, Manchester United product Reid may find himself in the first-team frame ahead of this weekend’s clash with Wolves in the FA Cup. Joined the Red Devils after being in the Arsenal academy, and made the move to South Wales on a three-year contract in the summer of 2016.

He was a reliable and consistent performer on the right-side of defence for the club’s Under23 side on their march to the double.

Has good pace and a willingness to get forward, but has the physicality to stand up to the rigours of his defensive role.

With Kyle Naughton banned and Angel Rangel injured, a trip to Molineux may like in wait.
