Apprentice and mum of one lands dream engineering job at Tata Steel
A MUM of one from Bridgend has now landed her dream job after completing a Level 3 apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering with Tata Steel.
Kylie Woodward said: “Throughout the four-year course I have acquired a great deal of practical experience and learned a whole host of new skills which I am applying on a daily basis. I really feel like my career is finally taking off and I’m loving every minute of it.”
Huw Mathias, training delivery manager, said: “Our apprenticeship programme is very well established and helps us to ensure we have very few skills shortages across any of our sites.
“The programme is a great way to uncover young enthusiastic people who are ambitious and hungry to learn.”
The Apprenticeship Programme in Wales is funded by the Welsh Government with support from the European Social Fund.
Minister for Welsh Language and Lifelong Learning, Eluned Morgan, said: “Tata Steel is just one example of a company benefitting from the chance to train the next generation in the specialist skills it needs within its organisation. Apprenticeships are a key investment for employers and play an important role in improving the skills and nurturing the talent of Wales as a whole.”

Meddai Huw Mathias, Rheolwr Darparu Hyfforddiant: “Mae ein rhaglen prentisiaethau wedi ennill ei phlwyf ac mae’n ein helpu i sicrhau prin unrhyw fylchau sgiliau ar draws ein safleoedd. Mae’r rhaglen yn ffordd wych o ddarganfod pobl ifanc frwdfrydig sy’n uchelgeisiol ac yn awyddus i ddysgu.”
Mae Rhaglen Prentisiaethau Cymru yn cael ei hariannu gan Lywodraeth Cymru gyda chymorth gan Gronfa Gymdeithasol Ewrop.
