HOW THE DEVELOPMENT COULD LOOK
Split into four themed activity zones, Alpine, Forest, Trails and Xtreme, the resort will cater for those looking for a fun day out or a more serious test of strength and stamina. Activities will range from indoor skydiving, scuba diving, canoeing, canyoning, surfing, off-road quad biking and more, all tailored to different abilities. There will also be downhill skiing, water sports, high-wire forest adventures, survival training and trampolining.
Developers hope to recreate an Alpine-style ski resort and plan to open the world’s longest artificial outdoor ski slope. Incorporating three runs down a 1,000ft slope, the Alpine Zone is expected to include slaloms, tubing, moguls, speed runs and tobogganing. There are also plans for a ski lift, a ski park with half-pipe style jumps, an Alpine-style restaurant at the top of the slope and ski shops at the bottom.
Neuman Aqua are expected to create spectacular aqua-based experiences, including obstacle courses, underground lagoons, water slides, rip-roaring rapids and indoor surfing.

As part of the Forest Zone, Technical Outdoor Solutions will bring their expertise to Afan Valley as they develop a series of high-wire adventure courses, including zip-line rollercoasters, a three-man trapeze, climbing walls and challenging aerial assault courses.
Bear Grylls, is set to bring his survival academy to the resort. The Academy programme involves a series of tough survival courses including three-hour and 24-hour family challenges, plus gruelling corporate team-building activities.
Afan Valley is famous for its mountain biking trails and the resort plans to offer visitors the chance to tackle some of the world’s most challenging routes.
There are also plans for a skate park, indoor sky-diving, an indoor trampoline park, soft play areas, a ninja warrior course and a Parkour arena. As well as the activity centres, there are also plans for shops, restaurants, bars and 450 luxury lodges.
