Tory dona­tions triple Labour’s

THE Con­ser­va­tives ac­cepted £4.7m in dona­tions in the first three months of 2018 – more than three times as much as Labour.

New data shows Theresa May’s party re­ceived the vast ma­jor­ity of dona­tions re­ported by all po­lit­i­cal par­ties reg­is­tered in Great Bri­tain and North­ern Ire­land be­tween Jan­uary 1 and March 31.

Jeremy Cor­byn’s Labour ac­cepted £1.49m in dona­tions, while the Lib­eral Democrats re­ported £564,135.

Re­new, the newly-estab­lished cen­trist party aim­ing to stop Brexit, col­lected £111,671, while the Women’s Equal­ity Party re­ceived £10,000 and the Green Party £1,800.
