Italy mirrors Britain in its call for change
I HAVE just visited Italy (Venice) and had a lovely time. However, while I was there a new popular government was formed, basically anti-euro and especially anti Germany’s dominance of the EU.
This has come about because for the last 10 years Italy has gone nowhere. There is no growth, high unemployment and a massive national debt. The people have had enough. I asked a few what they thought and everyone wanted change.
However, it now seems the President of Italy, a europhile, refuses to accept the new government as it is too anti-EU. This is almost a mirror image of the UK, where the elite are doing everything in their power to overturn the referendum result. David Gorton Rumney, Cardiff
