PEOPLE will be pulling on their summer finery this weekend as they head to the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport for the annual Polo At The Manor.

And while the Sport of Kings will be the main focus of the day, there will be so much more to keep the crowds entertaine­d. Here’s everything you need to know about the stylish event… WHAT IS POLO AT THE MANOR?

Polo At The Manor will see more than 3,000 guests descend on the Celtic Manor Resort to enjoy polo, picnics, ponies and champagne, as players from across the UK compete in a series of matches, officiated by the renowned Cirenceste­r Park Polo Club. WHEN IS IT?

The event will take place on Saturday, June 16. WHEN DO GATES OPEN?

The event begins at 11.30am and closes at 8pm. WHAT TIME ARE THE MATCHES? 2.30pm and 4.30pm HOW MANY MATCHES ARE THERE?

Two. There are four teams and they’re named after the sponsors - Bulmers, Hugh James, London Essence and Castell Howell. WHO’S GOING?

The star-studded event is a great opportunit­y for celeb spotting, with previous guests including Shayne Ward, Kym Marsh and Josie Gibson. This year fashion influencer and TV personalit­y Lydia Bright will be making an appearance to enjoy a fun-filled day of polo and relaxing with friends. WHAT’S THE DRESS CODE?

Polo At The Manor is a fun and glamorous event. Guests are invited to “dress to impress” in smart casual attire. Trainers and sportswear aren’t permitted within the hospitalit­y marquees. WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING ON THE DAY?

As well as the exhilarati­ng onfield action, there will be a variety of delicious food options, refreshing bars and live entertainm­ent for guests to enjoy. The hospitalit­y marquee and private pods have now sold out, but for those who wish to add another layer of luxury to the event, there are still private gazebos available to gather your friends together for a true VIP experience. Guests will be greeted with a Pimm’s reception on arrival, an exclusive private area and a delicious picnic prepared by the resort’s award-winning chefs. What’s more, guests can continue the celebratio­ns at the Polo After Party. With Pimm’s on arrival, a hog roast and live entertainm­ent, the fun doesn’t have to end after the last match. WHAT IF IT RAINS?

Polo at the Manor is an outdoor event and will go ahead regardless of the weather conditions on the day. Polo can be played in all weathers from sunshine to rain, and will not be cancelled unless the conditions pose a risk to the ponies, players or public. WHERE DO I PARK?

For all hospitalit­y, private pod, gazebo and general admission ticket-holders: Leave the M4 at junction 24 and take the B4237 towards Newport. Yellow AA event signage will direct you past the main entrance to The Celtic Manor Resort and onwards to the village of Caerleon. Please continue to follow this signage, which will lead you to the Polo car park located adjacent to the Polo Arena, just off the Caerleon to Usk road. Please note that there is no access to the event via the Resort Hotel, therefore you should arrange suitable return transport for your departure after the event from the polo car park.

For Polo to Pillow ticket-holders only: Leave the M4 at junction 24 and take the B4237 towards Newport. After approximat­ely 100 metres, turn right into The Celtic Manor Resort main entrance and follow signs for car parking.

For the After Polo Party: Please note that transport from the Polo Arena to the Resort Hotel after party is provided for guests on the Polo to Pillow residentia­l package only. All other guests will be required to make their own way to the event in the Caernarfon Ballroom – private taxis will be available for hire departing from the Polo Arena. Please note that The Celtic Manor Resort and organisers of Polo at the Manor accept no responsibi­l-

ity for any vehicles or their contents whilst on the premises. Cars which are left overnight must be removed on Sunday, June 17, between 8am and 3pm. Access gates will be locked outside these times. HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS AND WHERE CAN I BUY THEM? Tickets are available on the Celtic Manor Resort website. General admission tickets start from £20 for adults and £6 for children. Polo Gazebos start from £75 per person (for parties of 10 tickets). Tickets for the Polo After Party start from £25 per person.
