Trio ‘chase and attack boy and take bike’

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy who was allegedly chased by a group of 10 people and then assaulted was rescued by a member of the public.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a group threatened and chased the teenager in Llantwit Major.

The victim was cycling through the town centre on Wednesday, July 18, when he was approached by the group near the Kings Head pub.

Threatenin­g comments were made towards him before he was pursued into a shopping centre.

In the precinct he was reportedly assaulted by three men, who punched him in the face and knocked him to the ground. His bicycle, mobile phone and fishing tackle were taken from him.

A member of the public intervened during the assault and was able to retrieve the teenager’s possession­s before helping him home.

Officers now want help to find three men after the incident, which happened between 11.30pm and 11.45pm.

One man is described as 5ft 8in, white, slim and with dark hair. He was wearing a navy blue T-shirt with a white logo and jeans and is thought to have spoken with an Irish accent.

The second man is thought to be around 6ft tall, white, of a bigger build and with black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and dark-coloured trousers.

A third man was wearing a white T-shirt. He is described as white, of a medium build and between 5ft 9in and 6ft tall. He has dark hair and is also thought to have an Irish accent.
