Revolution of online auction as sales soar
SELLING at auction has never been more innovative and buying has never been simpler.
As the heat of our record-breaking summer continues, more and more buyers are utilising the convenience of the online saleroom.
Bidding takes place on the go, at any time of the day or night, all over the globe, and the appetite for fine and unusual treasures has never been more voracious.
Items of a unique and rare nature can find their niche buyers with ease through the far-reaching tendrils of online marketing platforms, and auction search tools are entering a new age of accuracy and refinement.
Buyers can bid at different auctions simultaneously all over the world, often being also able to pay and arrange the delivery of their goods at the touch of a button.
Anthemion Auctions are Cardiff’s longest-established and only professionally qualified auctioneers. Over recent years they have witnessed the sales to online buyers from all over the world more than triple.
Some of the highest-selling lots in Anthemion’s May fine art sale included a gentleman’s Rolex wristwatch, which sold for £8,200 to online buyers.
“As well as an array of art from all over the world, we are now able to offer buyers a much wider range of information and options for purchase,” said auctioneer Ryan Beach. “And for vendors, items consigned to auction have never had such an avid and diverse market.”
Anthemion Auctions offer free valuation days on Fridays between 10am and 4pm and are currently inviting entries for their fine art sale on Wednesday, August 22.
Items considered include jewellery, silverware, paintings, furniture, collectables, works of art and much, much more.
