Firm’s blaze shock as cannabis farm found

-

A LETTING agency has told of their shock after a cannabis farm was found in one of their flats following a huge blaze.

Police investigating the fire in Pool Street, Caernarfon, discovered a “large cannabis cultivation” in the flats above the Get Connected phone shop after a fire ripped through the building on Monday morning.

London-based Easy Lettings, who manage the whole building, has vowed to help get the phone shop back on its feet as soon as possible. A representative of the asset management team of Easy Lettings told the Daily Post: “Following the fire on Pool Street in Caernarfon the police called us and we have been fully co-operating with their ongoing investigation. We have given them all the information we have on file to assist them with the ongoing investigation into the perpetrators of this incident. The news received today that there was a cannabis farm in the flat is truly shocking to us.

“We did all the usual checks on the tenants before renting the flat to them and found nothing to be concerned about, so for this to happen is just shocking. The asset management team do six-monthly inspections and they were due to be inspected in the coming weeks.”

An investigation found that the cause of the blaze was “electrical involving the main incoming electrical supply board”.

The full cost of the damage has yet to be determined.

The spokesman for Easy Lettings added: “Since the incident we have not been able to get hold of the tenants of the flat.”

Police said nobody has been arrested in connection with the cannabis crop.
