Meghan’s father seems to think he deserves a payout
THE Duchess of Sussex’s father is growing increasingly bitter over his daughter’s privileged life, telling friends he expected his kids to help pay for his retirement.
The three-month estrangement between Meghan and Thomas Markle Snr came to a head after Prince Harry’s father-in-law slammed the phone down following a heated call.
It occurred after Mr Markle was found to have lied to his then future son-in-law days before the May 19 wedding when he denied colluding with a paparazzi to cash in on staged pictures.
It was the latest in a steady stream of “dad disappointments” Meghan is said to have endured since she left home to go to university.
Now it has been reported the former lighting director’s resentment over money was what initially drove a huge wedge between him and his three children following his retirement from Hollywood seven years ago.
He has told friends he had not received a “f ****** dime back” from his kids after supporting them when they left home.
Most parents do things for their kids to better their lives, not for some expectation of payback.
The only debt I owe mine is that of gratitude, just like the billions of other children who have been brought up with unconditional love.
No wonder Meghan is afraid to get in touch.
