Tribute to the Beatles has audience singing along

I’M BLAMING myself entirely for not realising that Let It Be – the Beatles stage show – was not a musical joyfully telling us the ups and ups and downs of the ground-breaking rock ‘n’ roll Scousers.

After about three songs, and a background change, I clicked that this was more-or-less a tribute concert, albeit a very high end tribute concert. And I have very strong feelings about going to see cover bands – I mean, I never got to see David Bowie, Joe Strummer or Jimi Hendrix perform in the flesh, so why would I want to watch brilliant and, while they sometimes someone else sing their songs? slipped into Jungle Book vulture-voices,
