Mum’s plea to missing Naomi on her birthday

-

THE mum of a missing teenage girl who is thought to be with a 20-year-old man has made a heartfelt appeal for her return on her 16th birthday.

Police are hunting for missing Naomi Rees who disappeared from her house in Rhydyfelin near Pontypridd almost a month ago on August 15.

Police believe she may be in the West Midlands or Staffordshire areas with 20-year-old Tomas Baker who is from Tamworth.

In a statement, Naomi’s mum Grace Rees said: “Naomi, we never imagined we would be spending your 16th birthday like this - not knowing where you are or if you are safe or not.

“We know that you do care and can only assume that you are not aware of our messages or that you are not being given the opportunity to make contact.

“Not knowing where you are and how you are faring is killing us. We won’t rest until the day that you are home and love you more than words can express. Please Naomi, get in touch.”

Mr Baker’s mum has also appealed to her son asking them to make contact.

In a statement released by police, his mother said: “Your sister ‘boo’ and me are worried sick. Please do the right thing and if you are with anybody you should not be with, then please take them to the nearest police station or being the good man you are Tom - make them do the right thing in contacting who they need to contact.

“Tom we all love you and miss you deeply. Please, Please THINK and do the right thing.”

Officers have scoured CCTV footage and managed to trace Naomi getting on a bus on Cardiff Road in Rhydyfelin at 7.46am on Wednesday, August 15. The bus headed into Pontypridd town centre. Further CCTV footage then puts Naomi on Bridge Street walking into Ynysangharad War Memorial Park at 8.06am.

Inquiries are continuing to establish where Naomi went after that. She was wearing a long scarf, a dark jacket, dark jeans, and black trainers with white soles. She was carrying a holdall.

Anyone who has seen them or has any information can contact West Midlands Police via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am to midnight.

People can also contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number 310545.
