Man, 19, ‘stabbed’ in Porthcawl

A 19-YEAR-OLD man is in hospital after he was allegedly stabbed in Porthcawl.

The incident happened on Thursday, September 13 near Porthcawl Library on Church Place.

The emergency services said they were called at around 10.20pm to reports of a stabbing and a man was taken to the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, where he is recovering from his injuries.

Police said the man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatenin­g.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in police custody.

A section of Church Place remains cordoned off while police carry out inquiries.

South Wales Police said: “A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident on Church Place, Porthcawl.

“We were called shortly after 10.20pm on Thursday. The Welsh Ambulance Service also attended.

“The 19-year-old who was arrested is currently in police custody.”
