Cyclists conquer on chapel car park
ON one of my (rare!) visits to chapel last Sunday I was disturbed to find that part of our private car park was being used as a pre-arranged rendezvous by cyclists to park their cars before setting out on a jaunt.
When I tried to explain that space was limited for any late worshippers, I was nonchalantly told that they could go further along (onto the wet grass).
I’m sure this attitude is not prevalent among cyclists; but this sad little episode brings to mind Julius Caesar’s “veni, vidi, vici”.
