QI have a Magnolia grandiflora ‘Victoria’ which is about four years old. When would be the best time to remove branches to restrict height and width? It has just finished flowering. Thank you.

AAs your tree is evergreen and has finished flowering, right now would be the perfect time to tackle this job. You could also have a go at it in spring if you prefer.

Take it slowly as you don’t want to spoil its overall shape.
