NEIL ETHERIDGE

Could do little for Andre Schurrle’s stunner and Sessegnon’s goal. But his save from Alfie Mawson’s header may just go down as one of the most important moments of the season

BRUNO MANGA

Looked a little uncomfortable high up on the right wing when pushing forward, especially with Cardiff’s high backline.

But he grew as the game went on.

SEAN MORRISON (C)

Played a little too high at times and struggled with Ryan Sessegnon. Looks a little awkward on the ball, but extinguished a few Fulham chances with some clever reads and defended with his life late on.

SOL BAMBA

A little rash at times but he read the vast majority of things excellently. Cut things out time after time and never stopped working. A rock at the back. When Cardiff stopped playing high, Bamba looked superb.

JOE BENNETT

Backed Josh Murphy up all day long. Composed on the ball, offered plenty in attack and was never a weak link in defence

VICTOR CAMARASA

Plenty of nice, little touches set the agenda for Cardiff’s best spell of attacking possession early on in the game. Occasionally drifts a little too wide, but worked well with Reid and Paterson and kept on running to set up Harris’s crucial goal.

ARON GUNNARSSON

The Iceland international’s first start of the season and he looked like he’d never been away. Composed on the ball, won his headers and rarely gave the ball away. Also had a big cheer for his first long throw of the afternoon, and rightly so

HARRY ARTER

Won the vast majority of his challenges. Nothing flashy, but was a solid presence in midfield alongside Gunnarsson. Never stopped running.

BOBBY REID

Showed a variety of touches early on that allowed Cardiff to play football in the right areas. Worked well with Camarasa and Paterson. Took his goal exceptionally well.

CALLUM PATERSON

Worked well as a focal point, winning everything in the air and offering nice interplay with his team-mates. His goal was the opposite of the old cliché ‘he’s hit that too well’ — but who cares? Scrappy or not, that was a big goal for Cardiff.
