ERWIN MULDER

Back in the side and showed his worth with two eye-catching saves from Ameobi and marshalled his area with real authority. An impressive return that will do his long-term first-choice prospects the power of good.

CONNOR ROBERTS

Moved back to right-back as Naughton’s ankle was not risked and was rock-solid defensively. Not able to get forward as much as he would have liked but knuckled down and did his job.

MIKE VAN DER HOORN

Came into his own during the closing stages as Bolton peppered the Swansea box with crosses and diagonal balls. So often in the right place at the right time.

JOE RODON

Got away with a rare slip in the first half but showed tremendous pace to cover Donaldson as he bared down on goal in the second half as he showed up strongly again.

MATT GRIMES

Bolton tried to overlap and expose him against Ameobi and, while challenged by the lanky winger, he held his own pretty well and was intelligent in judging when to engage and when to drop off. Moved to midfield when Olsson came on and made crucial late challenge as Bolton pushed.

LEROY FER

A mixed bag. Started strongly with some driving runs from deep and strong work in the middle, but his influence waned after the break and had his hands full, his frustration showing with a late tackle for which he was booked.

BARRIE MCKAY

His goal was the difference between the two sides and the one moment of true quality in the match. Made several other eye-catching contributions before his withdrawal. An improved showing from the Scot.

BERSANT CELINA

Some moments of high-class play but also a few slipshod passages of play. Will be disappointed he did not convert from a James cross and he overhit a few passes when chances were on for the visitors.

DANIEL JAMES

Shows what outstanding form he has been in that this felt like a quiet outing. Final ball was not as good as it needed to be on occasions, but still a real and ever-present threat.

OLI MCBURNIE

Will be frustrated that Celina and James did not find him when a pin-point cross could have seen him add to his tally. Starved of service, but got through his usual mountain of work.
