Find a perfect match in 20,000 wedding dresses

-

MORE than 20,000 wedding dresses and hundreds of pairs of shoes and other accessories are waiting to be sold at a Welsh warehouse.

After bridal retailer Berketex Bride went into administration in November, the team at John Pye Business Assets has been given 20,000 unsold gowns to value and sell.

It has also been reuniting Berketex customers with dresses they had paid for in full or made a deposit on before the company went into administration on November 13 after 50 years of trading. The remaining wedding gowns have gone into a warehouse sale at John Pye’s Port Talbot site where brides-to-be have the chance to get their hands on a dress every Friday and Saturday until further notice.

General manager Jonathan Beasley said: “We haven’t gone through all of the dresses yet but they range from £399 and £1,700, with one just shy of £2,000. We’ve got more dresses to go through so there could be some worth more than that. The shoes all vary in price but are around £69 and £79.”

Jo Williams, office manager, added: “There’s been lots of interest and people have come from all over the country to see the dresses. We’ve also been reuniting brides with their dresses.

The designs of the dresses include Emily Fox, Amy Hamilton, Rosetta Nicolini, Tom Flowers and Christina Sposa.

The first sale was held last Friday and the public can view the dresses and try them on every Friday between noon and 3pm and every Saturday from 10am until 2pm every week at the firm’s warehouse at Kenfig Industrial Estate until further notice.
