Former head of maths dies at 86

-

THE retired head of mathematics at Caldicot School, Graham Rosser, has died aged 86, it has been announced.

He leaves his wife Wendy, a fellow teacher who he met in the school staff room, his daughters Jane and Louise, and his two grandchildren Jonathan and Lauren.

Graham, pictured, was born in Penhow and lived in Llanmartin, Undy, Caldicot and Portskewett.

In July last year Graham and Wendy attended the Caldicot School fete to mark 60 years since the opening of Grayhill Building and its imminent demolition to make way for the new school.

Graham taught at the school for 30 years, from its opening in 1957, and at this event 60 years later, met former pupils and staff.

A keen sportsman, he played for Magor RFC.

A service of thanksgiving for Graham’s life will take place on December 20 at 12.30pm at the Langstone Vale Crematorium. All are welcome.
