Unfortunately, the electorate failed to deliver the hoped-for resounding defeat to the Brexiteers. There is no doubt that some were swayed by the unrealistic promises of the Brexit campaign. There is equally no doubt that the country is deeply divided on the issue.

Mrs May has repeatedly referred to delivering the result for which the people voted. This is a smokescreen. The result was 13:12 – not so very decisive.

What May is trying to do is to appease the anti-European Tories while minimising the damage to the economy.

The confidence vote has shown that 117 MPs feel strongly enough to oppose her leadership. Even if Europe is not uppermost in the minds of all of them, this leaves some 70 or 80 who will never give up trying to convert the Conservatives to their “right little, tight little island” philosophy.

For other reasons, the Labour Party has also shown deep divisions for a long time. This division has only been aggravated by the referendum result, with many Labour constituencies voting Out.

The cherished two-party, us-andthem system is broken. The two main parties are really four or more.

The time has surely come for them both to split so that the country can be offered parties that are more honest. With more parties to choose from, a proportional representation system will become essential.

The benefits would be more representative government in Westminster and less division in TERRIBLE sound in Liberty. Made right choice in Singleton Park. LIBERTY Stadium would be good because they were the last band to play at the old Morfa Stadium. LIBERTY pitch is due to be replaced in the close season, so not enough time to have any concerts this summer (it was stated in the match-day programme). BRILLIANT news. Got tickets for Noel Gallagher in Cardiff Castle next year. Hopefully I will get to the Phonics in Swansea as well. MUSIC for people who don’t know real music. I BET all three of their fans will be happy with this news.

CAN’T wait to see them!
