GRAHAM Potter says he’s been in constant dialogue with Swansea City’s owners during what’s been a “challenging” January transfer window so far.

The Swans are yet to become active in the market since it opened on New Year’s Day.

And speculation remains rife about the futures of certain high earners at the club, including the likes of striker Wilfried Bony and out-of-favour winger Luciano Narsingh.

But while Potter expects any business that may be concluded will take place later on in the month, the Swansea boss admits he regularly talks to the top brass at the Liberty Stadium over his January plans.

“We’re still in constant dialogue,” said Potter about his discussions with the owners.

“I would just say that it’s a challenging window. We still need to tidy things up financially at our end.

“It’s not a case of ‘here’s X amount, go and spend this’.

“You’re anticipating a bit of movement, maybe out, which can then maybe give us possibilities for in.

“We’re constantly seeing and will hopefully be ready to respond to what the market does and like I said, I expect it to speed up as we get closer to the end.”

Speaking ahead of his side’s Championship clash with Preston North End at Deepdale, Potter revealed that he is yet to receive any offers for his players.

And Potter stressed that the players currently at his disposal can make a big impact in the second half of the season.

When asked if the club have received interest in their players, Potter responded: “No. Nothing. I would say it’s been quiet. We’ve had a really busy period. So far it’s been quiet.

“I understand it’s an opportunity to make changes to your squad.

“But I spoke to Paul Cook after the Wigan game, it’s not easy to find solutions.

“When I look at the performances at Villa and Reading and the second half at Wigan, I still think there’s more to come from this group of players and that could be more valuable than any signing.”

As for the trip to Preston, Potter is aware his side face a tough battle against Alex Neil’s men.

Jay Fulton’s first league goal for the club saw Swansea come out on top in the meeting between the sides at the Liberty in August.

But they had to survive a ferocious second-half fightback from the Lilywhites to take the three points.

And, with Potter’s assistant Billy Reid having had Preston boss Neil as his captain at Hamilton, he needs no reminding of what lies in wait in Lancashire.

“It will be the opposite of easy
