Woman attacked pregnant bouncer in bar fight

-

A WOMAN attacked a pregnant bouncer at a Swansea bar after being asked to leave the premises, a court has heard.

Leanne Hearne dragged her victim to the floor and pulled her hair – ripping out hair extensions – and scrammed her face with her nails.

The victim, who was around five weeks pregnant, curled up into a ball on the floor during the attack.

Swansea Magistrates’ Court heard violence flared in the PopWorld bar on the city’s Wind Street on December 16 when 37-year-old Hearne was asked to leave.

The court heard Hearne became “agitated and aggressive” then attacked a female member of door staff, grabbing her by the hair and pulling her to floor.

As the attack continued, Hearne began scramming her victim’s face with her nails, and also struck her to the body.

The court heard that following the assault the victim went for a baby scan, and that it appeared that no harm had been done.

In her police interview Hearne said she thought her drinks may have been spiked, and she denied being on any “substances”.

Hearne, of Kingsway caravan park, Fforestfach, Swansea, pleaded guilty to common assault when she appeared before district judge Christopher James at the magistrates court.

Solicitor Rebecca Carter, for Hearne, said her client was very remorseful for what she had done, and she described the PopWorld incident as out of character for the defendant.

Hearne was made the subject of a 12-month community order with a rehabilitation course, and must abide by a curfew for the next 20 weeks.

She was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation.
