Ironman Wales event is already fully subscribed
IRONMAN Wales has sold out in record time – with thousands of athletes signing up to the Tenby challenge.
The mammoth 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile marathon is an annual sporting fixture in the Pembrokeshire seaside town.
And this year’s event, which takes place in September, has already sold out – beating previous records by more than six months.
A spokesman for Ironman said the Tenby event was “one of the best supported races globally with local spectators coming out in force”.
Race director Sam Brawn said: “Ironman Wales is a special event, not only for athletes but also for the people of Tenby and Pembrokeshire.
“We know that it is already an event of choice for many current and aspiring athletes but for the race to be fully subscribed barely four months after entries opened is phenomenal.
“Our team is hard at work together with Pembrokeshire Council to make sure Ironman Wales continues to live up to its illustrious reputation”
Ironman Wales takes place on Sunday, September 15.
