Sending anti-nuclear message to Hitachi

In the run-up to the Welsh Labour Party’s election of him as First Minister he sent an unmistakable signal to Hitachi he does not endorse Wylfa Newydd and said he intends to review the Welsh Government’s supportive policy for nuclear power.
On his first day in office his Government overrode the decision Anglesey County Council had taken to approve Hitachi’s site plans for Wylfa Newydd. These will now be approved or rejected by the Welsh Government, thereby delaying the start of development and no doubt adding to Hitachi’s costs, even if approval is granted at a later stage.
