Teens seen throwning rocks at cars and houses
A GROUP of teenagers has been “launching” rocks at houses and cars in Pontarddulais.
Around a dozen youths were seen targeting a number of homes and cars near Tesco in the Llys Morfydd area of the town.
Posts on social media detailed how the police were called after the culprits were spotted by residents on Thursday.
One status warned: “Those near Llys Morfydd, the development at the end of Tidal Reach, watch out for a group of a dozen delightful individuals who are launching rocks at cars and houses.”
Councillor Clive Mathias said: “It happened just before our council meeting on Thursday night.
“At the bottom of the road that leads from St Teilo Street to Tesco there’s a roundabout and the complaints were coming from there.
“A lot of people there were complaining that there was a group of kids that aren’t very old and they were throwing rocks at houses and cars.
“The police turned up and then they moved away.
“It was happening during the early evening, as soon as it went dark.
“There’s a lot of anti-social behaviour in Pontarddulais at the moment, it’s definitely on the increase.”
South Wales Police confirmed that it received reports of a number of youths throwing rocks.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “We received reports of a group of youths throwing rocks at a property in Llys Morfydd at about 7pm on Thursday night.
“Anyone with information should call 101 quoting occurrence 1900412564.”
