IF an hour-long reunion with the Wests and Shipmans wasn’t enough, die-hard Gavin & Stacey fans can now get their hands on a piece of signed memorabilia from the Christmas special, writes Bronte Howard.

A clapperboard that was used during the filming of the show and has been signed by the entire cast has gone up for auction on eBay.

Within hours of being listed on the site, some 38 people had bid and offers had reached £1,000. The auction is due to end on December 31.

The rare collectable has been endorsed by Ruth herself and is being sold to raise money for Ty Hafan, which provides vital support to life-limited children.

The actress is an avid supporter of the charity and all proceeds raised from the auction will go to the hospice, which is set to take on a £1.5m refurbishment project next year. In a video posted by Ty Hafan, Ruth said: “There is a very special opportunity for you to win a bit of memorabilia from the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special. It’s this rather marvellous clapperboard that’s been signed by all the cast.

“It’s a very rare thing and we are going to put it on eBay and auction it in aid of Ty Hafan.

“Ty Hafan is in desperate need of some refurbishment and they are currently trying to raise £1.5m.”

Ty Hafan, based in Sully, hopes to carry out a significant renovation to give its young patients a hospice “fit for the future”.

The revamp will focus on making vital clinical adaptations to the building as well as upgrading its 10 care bedrooms, eight family bedrooms, living and social areas.
