- The 10 most expensive streets in Wales:

The 10 most expensive streets in Wales in 2019 have been revealed and the list only features three locations. Using the most recent available data on average selling prices from the Land Registry, the top 10 results show that Cardiff and Swansea dominate the most expensive property landscape in Wales during the last year. But the most expensive street in Wales for 2019 can be found in Penarth, one of two entries for the popular Vale of Glamorgan seaside town

■ 1. Augusta Road, Penarth

Penarth has become a very attractive and popular target for house hunters with a healthy budget who want to be surrounded by coast, country and city.

Easily commutable to Cardiff, the

Victorian town has an abundance of substantial period properties perfect for families or converted into plush apartments for professionals.

There are also pockets of smaller, characterful homes to discover too, so first-time buyers are not totally priced out of the town, although these homes get snapped up very quickly. So it’s no surprise to see a popular, leafy street in Penarth top of the list of most expensive streets in Wales for 2019.

The road is so popular that there is only one property in this location currently for sale; a bungalow marketed at £795,000 by David Baker & Co.

In 2019, the street had an average selling price of £845,000.

It’s still an area of Cardiff that is growing in house value and has been very robust in the past to the ebb and flow of a volatile property market.

And one of the most popular roads in the suburb is Church Road. In fact, it is so popular that currently there are no homes for sale on the street.

The street comprises of 82 homes, a mix of houses and flats, with the current average value of £616,389 compared to £299,639 for the CF14 postcode.

According to property portal Zoopla, this semi-detached period house was the only sale on the street 2019. It was last sold in 1995 for £187,500 and sold this year for £845,000.

The average selling price for this suburban road in 2019 was £775,000.
