- Acts around at the moment – including yourself, Flo and Joan, Vikki Stone. Do you think there’s been something of a revival in musical comedy acts over the last few years? Can you tell us a bit about your new touring show, Jonny Awsum Is Coming To Town? W

I do see lots of brilliant musical acts getting more attention now, which is fantastic.

I would love to make a TV show one day that had them all on, a bit like Jools Holland, but with comedy acts.

I am available to host this incredible idea if any TV execs are reading this…

This is my first ever tour so it will be packed full of my fave tried and tested songs from the past nine years. Gold basically, solid gold.

There will also be some brandnew songs in the show that I have written for this tour.

I am pretty confident that a lot of people who are buying tickets to the show won’t have seen a lot of the material I will be doing, but its great with songs because sometimes I go somewhere and someone will request one of mine that they have heard before – requests!

You’ve made it when you’re getting requests (unless they’re for Oasis or Dire Straits songs).

I am working on a brand-new

Edinburgh show called Jonny Awsum’s Illegal Rave (For Kids) – I’m really excited about it.

I don’t want to give too much away but it’s a family show for anyone from age 7 upwards, and I am pretty certain it will be one of the wildest shows in Edinburgh this summer… rave in a cave anyone?

AS a tribute to Queen heads to Swansea, we speak to Kevin Goodwin, founder member and bass player of The Bohemians

A: January 1996. I have always been a massive Queen fan, so I was able to bring a lot of ideas to the table.

A: Yes, on the A Kind of Magic tour in 1986 at Wembley Stadium and Knebworth. I also saw them with Paul Rogers a few times around 10 years ago.

A: Somebody to Love, it has great harmonies, great structure to the song and very creative in the arrangements.

A: The Best of Queen! We try to put on a Queen show where everyone will know all the songs, performed with passion, to a high standard and with the dynamic of a live Queen show. Those who didn’t get the chance to see Queen with Freddie get to experience the live energy Queen were all about, and those who were lucky enough to see Queen can re-live the memories.

A: The reaction of the audience and the great feeling Queen songs always seem to produce in people. It has always been an ambition to play live shows for a living and this is a fantastic and very enjoyable way to do it.

A: There have been so many, but playing at the Queen Fan Club conventions, meeting Brian May back stage after one of our performances, playing venues around the world with thousands of people in the audience and touring with at 25-piece orchestra to name a few...
