T20 World Cup player of the tournament, leading run scorer and newly-crowned ICC Women’s T20 International No.1-ranked batter, Beth Mooney, will be reunited with her Australian team-mates Jess Jonassen and Meg Lanning at Welsh Fire in The Hundred this summer.

Mooney said: “I’m really excited to take part in the first season of The Hundred. It looks likes it is developing into a high-quality, world-class competition.

“As coach, Matthew Mott is building a really strong side at Welsh Fire and I can’t wait to get out there with my new teammates.”

Ashleigh Gardner is the second overseas player confirmed for Birmingham Phoenix, joining New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, while fellow Australian all-rounder Nicola Carey links up with compatriot Alyssa Healy at Northern Superchargers.

South African star Marizanne Kapp will be heading to South London to join Oval Invincibles, alongside international teammate Dane van Niekerk and Australian vice-captain Rachael Haynes.

Fellow Proteas international Chloe Tryon adds more batting power to a London Spirit side that already features England women’s captain Heather Knight and hardhitting West Indian all-rounder, Deandra Dottin.

Beth Barrett-Wild, Head of The Hundred – Women’s Competition, said: “It’s fantastic to see five more international stars signing up to play in The Hundred this summer.

The competition is really building momentum, and it’s very exciting to see the growing list of world-class talent involved across the eight teams.”

Each team is permitted to sign up to three overseas players within a 15-strong squad, which will be completed with domestic talent in early July.

Tickets to standalone women’s matches in The Hundred are back on sale for a limited time only (until March 16). For more information, tickets and priority access to all games head to www.thehundred.com.
