Teen sent naked pics of ex-girlfriend

ATEENAGER sent naked photographs of his ex-girlfriend to her family and work colleagues and posted them on Facebook and Instagram after hacking into her social media.

Cory Huxter, now 20, was 19 when he took control of his ex-partner’s social media accounts and used them to spread images of her which had been sent to him while they were still in a relationship.

His victim, who we have chosen not to name, first found out about naked photographs of herself being posted online while she was on a night out, but she was unable to delete them as Huxter had changed her passwords.

The defendant, from Porth, Rhondda, also messaged men while pretending to be the victim and told them her home address so they could meet up with her to have sex.

A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday heard Huxter and his ex-partner had been in a relationship for two years before they split up.

Prosecutor Nuhu Gobir said on November 2, 2018, the victim was on a night out in Bath when she was contacted by a friend asking if she had seen her Facebook story.

When the victim returned home, she logged into her Facebook account and discovered nine photographs of her naked body had been posted. She was able to delete these, but she was unable to access her Facebook Messenger account.

It later transpired Huxter had messaged the photos to between 60-70 Facebook friends including her family members and work colleagues. She was unable to delete the messages or tell her friends she was not responsible for sending the photographs.

The defendant was arrested and interviewed. He admitted to police he had posted the photos and claimed he had only done it because the victim had threatened to send someone to his home to beat him up and he wanted to “get back at her”. He later pleaded guilty to two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs intending to cause distress.

In a victim personal statement read out on behalf of the victim, Mr Gobir said: “She has had to change her job due to work colleagues receiving photographs. She said she feels disgusted at herself for bringing shame on her family. She does not think it will go away as the social media accounts are still out there.”

Defence barrister Hashim Salmman said the defendant suffered from “severe” mental health issues and had been sectioned following his arrest after making attempts on his own life.

Sentencing, Judge Daniel Williams said: “Your actions were designed to humiliate, embarrass and degrade her and to do so to as wide an audience as possible.”

Huxter was sentenced to 26 weeks’ detention in a young offenders’ institute suspended for 12 months and was ordered to carry out 150 hours’ unpaid work and a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
