FREDDIE WOODMAN

Routine save to deny Jacob Murphy early on and did the basics well enough. Unable to keep out Atdhe Nuhiu’s header late on.

CONNOR ROBERTS

Operating higher up the pitch than usual, Swansea needed more from the Welshman in attack in the first half. Better after the restart, though.

KYLE NAUGHTON

In a more unfamiliar central role at the back, Naughton did well enough on the ball. Guided Marc Guehi along nicely. Solid showing – and a sublime pass to Rhian Brewster.

JAKE BIDWELL

Had a really tough time up against Jacob Murphy and didn’t look comfortable in Swansea’s new system. Improved in the second half in fairness and made some important interventions.

JAY FULTON

A few rash challenges in the opening half as Swansea struggled to get to grips with proceedings. Rightly booked for one tackle in particular. Gritty showing, though, and helped Swansea regain some control in midfield in the second 45.

MATT GRIMES

Got more on the ball as the game wore on. Solid enough effort in the middle of the park.

ANDRE AYEW

Barely had an impact in the final third in the first half. Cut a frustrated figure as Swansea proved far too blunt at the business end of the pitch. As with others, far more involved in the second half and took his penalty well. Sixteen goals for the season for the Ghana international.

CONOR GALLAGHER

Unable to do any damage in the first half and impact was fairly limited in the second half, too, although won a few free-kicks with individual skill. Subbed.

WAYNE ROUTLEDGE

Playing deeper than usual, Routledge had a big job on his hands when it came to tracking Murphy. Certainly a victim of Swansea’s new-look shape, as it really didn’t suit him. Replaced.

RHIAN BREWSTER

Off target with a free-kick, and was barely given a sniff in the first half. But he took his goal brilliantly and was a constant menace in the second half. Should have netted a second late on. Where would Swansea be without the Liverpool loanee? Subbed due to injury which was a blow.
