CARDIFF-BASED family law firm Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice has announced a new director and solicitor.

Rebecca Knight is promoted to director and Bethan Tapper is promoted to solicitor.

Ms Knight started at the firm nearly a decade ago as a paralegal. She has climbed through the ranks of trainee solicitor, solicitor, and associate to now become a director.

She studied at Swansea University and completed her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Cardiff Law School before qualifying as a solicitor in 2014.

Ms Knight sits on the board at Hockey Wales, providing legal guidance. She is also a club organiser for South Wales Ladies Business Club, a non-profit business club exclusively for women, which was the first of its kind in Wales.

Ms Tapper joined the firm in 2018. From Cardiff, she studied Law at Reading University.

She completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Bristol, where she achieved the highest mark in family law with an overall distinction.

Since starting with the firm, she has carried out pro bono work via Support Through Court (formerly known as Personal Support Unit).

Her pro bono work focuses on helping assist those who face court alone.

Founding partner Melanie Hamer said “We are delighted with the progress and vast contributions Rebecca and Beth have made in the firm.

“They are both rising stars and will help ensure the continued success of the firm for the future.

“Everyone at the firm is thrilled with these dual promotions, which are well and truly deserved.”
