Care for all animals and think globally

-

IT is written that not only was Christ born in a stable, but rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. Does this not indicate a deep connection between God and animals?

Donkeys are just one more animal species that are hideously tormented.

For example, in India they are used as beasts of burden in brick kilns, carrying loads of up to 200kg in the great heat and often while hungry and even deprived of adequate water, with sores and injuries. Or in the Greek islands, where they are again horribly exploited and forced to carry tourists up steep hills while hungry, thirsty and sick in unbearable heat. Even worse is the fact that donkeys are skinned (having been killed with sledgehammers or knives) to create the great Chinese medicine of ejiao from the gelatine. This should not happen.

While the entire planet is in shutdown from Covid-19 it is time to add together our concern and love for animals with our solidarity as the human race in opposition to disease. In order to emerge from this nightmare of our own creation we must think globally and act locally to care for all animal species in all ways.

It is not just the evils of meat, but also mistreatment, disrespect and suffering in general.

The negative energy of the torments inflicted on animals creates a great force of harm which spoils and ruins all things in the human realm as well.

It has any number of other impacts as a knock-on effect. Just as tobacco creates cancer and malnutrition creates disease, meat (and all suffering of animals) creates hunger and human suffering of many, many forms, which is one interpretation of Genesis in the Bible.

The interdependence of chaos theory, Gaia theory and quantum mechanics indicate that this is theologically certain.

The time is now, and the future is there to be reached for with open hands.
