Help Macmillan to support those in need

-

I AM writing to your readers on behalf of the Macmillan Merthyr Tydfil Fundraising Committee. We help fund Macmillan nurses and other health professionals in Merthyr Tydfil, and support people living with cancer at a time when it is needed the most.

Whether it’s creating new services, adapting old ones, or speaking up on their behalf, Macmillan is doing everything possible to ensure people living with cancer get the support they so desperately need.

Our help is needed now more than ever. Coronavirus continues to leave people with cancer feeling isolated and alone, and to impact on people’s care and treatment.

Macmillan is also entirely funded by public donations, and faced with a huge drop in income because of the current pandemic. We need your help so we can continue to be there for the thousands of people with cancer who rely on us for physical, financial and emotional support.

We know times are tough, but cancer knows no boundaries and continues to affect one in two of us. We really need to keep these vital support services in place, but we can’t do it alone.

The Merthyr Tydfil Fundraising Committee has followed government guidance and has postponed or cancelled all its faceto-face fundraising, which means we will face a massive decline in our income this year.

We’re now asking people to give what they can via the Merthyr Tydfil Fundraising Committee’s donation page https://macmillanorg.charitycheckout.co.uk/ merthyrtydfil/profile or via Supporter Care Team on 0300 1000 200

Please don’t forget, if you or anyone you know is affected by cancer, Macmillan is right there with you.

For information, support or just someone to talk to, call 0808 808 0000 (free to call – seven days a week 8am-8pm) or visit www.macmillan. org.uk. Thank you. Hayley Hunt Chair, The Merthyr Tydfil Macmillan Fundraising Committee
