Saying goodbye as restrictions lift

- Saying goodbye is never easy, but we can help you to say the best goodbye possible. See coop.co.uk/funeralcare

As funeral restrictions start to ease, it’s more important than ever to find a fitting way to say goodbye.

Over recent months people have not been able to bid fond farewells to those who have passed away in the way they might have wanted to – but as lockdown restrictions start to ease, things are changing. Here we explore what the changes will mean.

Co-op Funeralcare has supported families throughout the pandemic, adapting their ways of arranging funerals to help people say their best goodbye. Their doors are now open again for faceto-face arrangements, with appropriate measures in place for your safety.

Some places of worship and crematoria are starting to allow funeral services to be conducted, although the number who can attend will be kept to a “safe maximum”. Your local funeral director can advise you more specifically on this. From July, Co-op Funeralcare is also reintroducing its limousine service, meaning families can now travel together to funeral services. Measures have been put in place and vehicles adapted to ensure current social distancing rules are being met.

For those who have sadly lost a loved one during lockdown, you may consider holding a delayed memorial service, now that restrictions are slowly being lifted. It means those who were close to them will be able to mark their passing in a fitting way. One option could be to hold a small ceremony based around the scattering of the ashes.

Whatever you choose, Co-op Funeralcare is here to help.
