First post-lockdown sale for Anthemion Auctions
CARDIFF’S premier auction house is excited to be opening its doors to the public for the first time in months, with a huge auction scheduled for July 15.
Proprietor and auctioneer Ryan Beach said: “It’s been a very challenging few months for everyone; we have all had to adapt our lives and work, and it hasn’t always been easy, but it’s fantastic to have my amazing team back on site, and very exciting to be holding our first auction since closure.”
Asked about safety, Anthemion has confirmed that stringent consideration has been given to customer protection in the continued coronavirus crisis, and that all the relevant measures have been taken to ensure clients can view the lots and enjoy the auction without unnecessary risk.
The auction itself offers more than 400 lots, with plenty of variety, including furniture from 17th-century to modern, oil and watercolour paintings, a selection of guitars and other instruments, selected textiles including Welsh blankets, Mexican rugs and vintage clothing, ceramics, glasswares, toys and collectables.
Over the last months, many who have spent a lot of time indoors have been keen to re-invent their spaces, turning to creative pursuits and interior decoration.
Lockdown has also prompted a further rise in environmental consciousness, making antiques, with their sustainable and green credentials, a unique way to refresh our homes.
“We have missed our customers and the buzz of our day to day work at Anthemion very much,” said Ryan “and we are very happy to be welcoming everyone back. We consider ourselves fortunate to be here, and to be healthy, and we are extremely thankful to the NHS and all essential workers for their tremendous work.”
Viewing for the auction will take place on Tuesday, July 14 between 9am and 6.30pm and full details of safety protocols can be obtained from the auctioneers.
■ Special arrangements for private viewings are available for those who are shielding. The sale is also available to view and bid on online, via www.the-saleroom. com, and staff will be happy to help with queries or concerns on 029 2047 2444 or anthemions@aol.com
