Tories’ iron fist in velvet glove of ‘unity’
FOLLOWING on from the revelation in one of the national papers that this government is looking to bring in legislation this autumn which would give them the power to decide on major infrastructure projects in the devolved nations, thus overriding democratic decisions made by those devolved governments, we have two “major” members of the British government attempting to justify yet another blatant power grab.
This time we are to toe the line as this fanatical shower frantically attempt to bring in a trade deal with the USA which would seriously compromise the existing food and animal welfare standards of this country.
Attempting to justify this antidemocratic action as “bringing the nations together” we are regaled with total jingoistic claptrap from members of the most untrustworthy government in history – and that’s saying something!
They seem to think it is somehow wrong for a country to try to protect the high standards already in place, wrong to protect the agricultural industry from cheap products with little or no welfare standards.
Do these anti-democracy fanatics honestly believe that the people of the devolved nations are so naive as to not see this for what it is?
A blatant attempt by an ultrafar-right bunch of chancers to subvert our duly elected devolved administrations and impose Big Brother in the shape of the blond buffoon and his cronies on the entire country.
Bring the country together? It would be so very funny if it wasn’t so serious.
They honestly seem to not realise that it is their pet project, Brexit, that has divided this country and is plunging us into possible economic oblivion.
So it would appear, now is the time for the iron fist to bring us all into line but keep it hidden in the velvet glove of “national unity”.
