Streaming newbies land Emmy nominations

year’s awards – the 72nd Primetime Emmys. It racked up 160 nods.

Apple TV+ shows were nominated 18 times, including nods for Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carrell’s turns in The Morning Show.

Disney+’s Mandalorian picked up most of the service’s 19 nominations – the Star Wars spin-off bagged a prestigious nomination for Best Drama Series.

The winners will be revealed on September 20, but there’s been no word yet on whether an actual ceremony will take place, or whether the gongs will be handed out virtually.

THEY have been in the market for less than a year, but the new streaming services from Apple and Disney have managed to scoop a bunch of Emmy nominations for their original shows. The venerable Netflix managed to beat both for the number of nominations for this Jennifer Aniston in The Morning Show
