Attacks on business and sacred cows

-

I DESPAIR at the attitude of Lee Waters towards Welsh business. It is that business that ultimately pays his salary and that of every public servant in Wales.

Firstly, he wants to close Aberpergwm Colliery, which produces the purest form of anthracite. That product is exported all over the world for water filtration purposes. How many millions of lives does it save in Third World countries that depend on purer water?

The anthracite is also used in the vital steel industry of Wales. If we don’t produce it, it will be imported, so what does the planet gain?

Now the latest attack is on Welsh livestock farming, the leading industry of 90% of Wales! Welsh beef and lamb are top-quality products, mainly produced from grass and exported all over the world. If Lee Waters had any business acumen, he as a Welsh Minister would be promoting Welsh beef and lamb, not telling people to eat less!

If the Welsh Government thinks Wales is going to lead the world in carbon dioxide reduction, it should reflect that whilst the population of Wales is 3 million , the world population is 7.8 billion. The global population increases by the Welsh population every fortnight!

A sobering thought is that the population of India has now caught up with China at around 1.4 billion each and 40% of the Indian population is under 18! Frightening! So where will the global population be by 2030?

Furthermore, India also has 30% of the world’s cows... 305.5 million. They are all sacred! So who is going to tell them they can’t belch out methane? Not the Welsh Government, for sure!
