How they rated
BEN HAMER
Lining up against his former club, Hamer was helpless for Huddersfield’s opener and he was bold when it came to playing out from the back. Stunning saves to twice deny Lewis O’Brien in the first half. A mere spectator in the second half
KYLE NAUGHTON
Helped Hamer regularly play out from the back and was generally solid in possession.
RYAN MANNING
Returning to the back three, Manning defended well and was spectacularly denied by Lee Nicholls in the first half. Got forward so well in the second half.
JOEL LATIBEAUDIERE
In an unfamiliar left wing-back role, Latibeaudiere offered an attacking outlet and was defensively solid. Good pressure throughout. Encouraging.
BEN CABANGO
Got up the pitch well and made a number of tackles to ease the pressure on Hamer’s goal. Very good on the ball in the second half.
MATT GRIMES
Cut a frustrated figure at times in the first half but was on fine form in the second half.
CYRUS CHRISTIE
On his Swans debut, the Fulham loanee was composed on the ball and showed encouraging signs of linking up with the attack. The new signing will hugely benefit from the minutes. Subbed.
KOREY SMITH
Playing in an advanced role, Smith made plenty of runs to create space for others. Good on the ball, too.
OLIVIER NTCHAM
Decent enough when linking up play, and the Frenchman’s influence grew in the second half. Some frustrating moments, but also encouragement.
JOEL PIROE
Wasn’t given much to work with in the first half, but the Dutchman worked tirelessly to help keep Swansea on the front foot after going 1-0 down. Missed a big chance at the death.
STAR MAN: FLYNN DOWNES
Another top shift from the central midfielder, who was dogged throughout while also looking slick in possession. Got his first goal for the club to earn his side a point.
