Man claims child abuse images were an ‘accident’

-

A MAN who calls himself Perfect Lee Amazing collected hundreds of photos and videos of children being raped and sexually abused, a court has heard.

Sian Cutter, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court the defendant – also known as Steven McMurray – was arrested in January last year after police executed a search warrant at his house.

Officers seized two mobile phones, and on one of the devices they found indecent images linked to a Telegram messaging app.

Police also found an online storage account which contained 250 indecent images including 171 Category A videos. They also uncovered images showing bestiality, as well as 550 prohibited images.

In his police interview Amazing, 34, told officers he had been drunk when he began looking at the images, and had started by looking at teenagers before “accidentally” downloading images of younger children.

Perfect Lee Amazing, of Vivian Road, Sketty, Swansea, had previously pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children of categories A, B and C, possession of prohibited images of children and possession of extreme pornography when he appeared via videolink from prison for sentencing. He has 10 previous convictions for 23 offences including robbery and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Jon Tarrant, for Amazing, said his client was willing to engage with any help that was offered. The advocate said there were a number of references in the pre-sentence report to his client expressing disgust at what he had done.

He was sentenced to a total of 12 months in prison suspended for 24 months, ordered to complete a rehabilitation requirement with the Horizon sex offenders course, to do 60 hours of unpaid work and pay £720 costs. He was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order and will be on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
