Family’s pain at loss of ‘little angel’ Lacie

- ANDREW FORGRAVE newsdesk@walesonline.co.uk

AFAMILY who lost their “little angel” when a 13-year-old girl died in a horror crash have paid tribute to the “one-of-a-kind” teenager.

Lacie Jade Roberts was one of two people killed in the crash in Bagillt on April 22.

Her mum, Kieley Messham, from Flint, has been left devastated by her daughter’s death.

To help her, family member Louise Messham has organised a GoFundMe appeal that has so far topped £9,000.

Lacie, a pupil at Flint High School, was killed in a single-vehicle crash at the LyonsDen Fitness gym in Bagillt on April 22.

A man was also killed and three others were seriously injured.

Lacie was described as a “one-of-akind” girl who loved making people laugh. Her death had left the entire family “broken and shocked”, said Louise, who also lives in Flint.

She said Lacie was Kieley’s “beautiful, bubbly baby, with the prettiest green eyes you would ever see”.

She added: “Our beautiful Lacie Jade Roberts has been cruelly taken from us far too soon.”

In the aftermath of the crash, dozens of bouquets and cuddly toys were left at the scene by mourners and wellwishers.

Louise said the teenager’s death was “beyond any pain or hurt we could ever of imagined”.

Launching the fundraising appeal, she said: “You don’t expect for this to happen to your family, but this time it has. We are really struggling to come to terms with it. Lacie’s mum is now having to arrange plans for her funeral whilst still coming to terms with all of this. It’s so heartbreaking to see – no mother should have to go through this.

“We as a family are doing our best to support her in giving Lacie the send-off she so rightly deserves.”

Making her appeal with “complete sadness and total disbelief”, Louise asked if the “kind and thoughtful people of Flint” could help the family give Lacie the funeral she deserves.

Wellwishers in the town and beyond have responded with a rush of donations.

In just four days, the fundraiser has reached £9,130, surpassing Louise’s target.

She paid her own touching tribute to Lacie.

“Our beautiful lovely little Lacie Jade “forever 13”,” she wrote.

“Fly high, our little angel. We all love you and miss you so so much.”
