The second homes crisis and why plans to counter it could ‘kill’ off businesses

IF anyone thinks this will lower the prices of homes in honey-pot areas they want their heads testing. And if it did lower the prices, how many local people would be in negative equity? The problem is the government inability to attract businesses to create decent jobs. Without jobs people won’t be able to afford the most basic home.

HOUSE prices rise, it’s a fact of life. Second homes and holiday lets are just a scapegoat. If outside people didn’t buy these homes, there would be a lot of empty properties.
