THE LAST ELECTIONS

THE last council elections in Wales were in 2017. In those elections the make-up in Wales’ 22 authorities was:

■ No overall control: 10 councils

■ Labour: 7 councils ■ Independent: 3 councils ■ Conservative: 1 council ■ Plaid Cymru: 1 council Labour had a net loss of 112 council seats, and also lost control of the Blaenau Gwent, Merthyr and Bridgend councils.
