Cable thefts affect thousands
THIEVES stole underground cables used by up to 2,400 telephone and broadband customers in two incidents in Wrexham.
The culprits struck in an area between Southsea and Coedpoeth, and also in Overton-on-Dee.
Engineers are working to restore connections, and it is understood that not all the 2,400 people have been affected. In the first theft some 700m of cables used by 2,000 people were stolen. Then another 800m of cables, used by a further 400 customers, were taken.
