Q
Have you any suggestions for a patch of garden that gets no sun and is badly drained? Michael
A
in such situations you can try plants that like to grow in boggy conditions so they will be happy even if they are permanently wet. The yellow flag iris is one such plant – you often see it growing by the edge of a pond and if this worked would bring a lovely bit of sunshine to that damp corner! Or you could try a willow, alder or even a birch tree as they are all tolerant of wet conditions.
