Current rugby model is unsustainable

I CAN’T say I was surprised at the news the WRU is proposing to cut the number of regional teams from four to three.

It has been obvious for several seasons that the current model is economically unsustainable. The performances from our teams, especially in Europe, have been terrible of late – a reflection of the poor state of the regions.
