Curious coincidence down on the farm

-

COINCIDENCE is one of those strange things that makes you wonder if there is more to life than they are telling us.

Much like dark matter, that stuff in space that has gravity and makes up 95% of the universe but is unlike anything scientists have seen before and which they don’t quite understand.

Take tractorgate, which I thought I had drawn a furrow under – mind you, I did like the joke that made it into the weekend’s quotes of the week: “Did Neil Parish watch the full tractor porn film or just the trailer?”

Just over a week ago we became aware of tractors as the new page three girls; or more correctly, the online search for a Claas Dominator combine harvester.

Suddenly, everyone was talking about combine harvesters, not a subject that had previously exercised the nation’s imagination.

Well blow me, last Thursday evening, BBC2, and Lincolnshire farmer Will rescues a large combine harvester from the scrap yard (not a green Claas, sadly, but a red Massey Ferguson) and invites Simon Parfett and his “My Unique B&B”

team to convert it into a quirky and memorably eye-catching holiday let on his farm.

Well worth a watch on iPlayer to enjoy both country folk and the B&B team’s joyous inventiveness.

Remember, this would have been filmed last year, and scheduled by chance to air last week.

You really couldn’t make it up. Coincidence or what?
