Give powers back to Westminster
INSTEAD of increasing the Senedd by 36 members (to allow for the extra workload of the present parliament), why not send all of them packing and pass everything back to the proper governing body, namely the Palace of Westminster?
Giving out jobs for the boys (and girls) smacks of nepotism and means that instead of using precious funds for UK taxpayers, money is going into the pockets of those who do little to earn it.
The enormous extra costs of inflating the Senedd to 96 members (approx £12m) in running a second government in Wales are a drain on the public purse and the savings would go to help pay for extra doctors, nurses, and 999 services.
Is it not enough that we have councils to run our towns and cities? Why do we need this intermediate level between the real policymakers and local people? Time for a referendum methinks.
